High and lows

Assigned today was to have a web of a minimum if 5 highs and 5 lows from thanksgiving vacation. This will be due tomorrow. Students had 10 minutes to work on this in class.

Today we finalized our assignment going from the power boxes to final draft in class and turned that in.

Today we watched the 2 CNN episodes again and worked on the power boxes in class. Due at the start of rotation tomorrow are the power boxes and then they will have the rest of rotation to write their final paragraph.

Students watched 2 episodes of CNN News today.  They are to choose a news story and write an expository or persuasive paragraph on.  Due tomorrow is the web...just a topic and some ideas to drive the paragraph.

Transfer power boxes into a final paragraph. This will be due first thing on Monday.  Must be done in blue or black pen or typed. 

10/23 Writing Homework

Create a word web (for or against) for one of the news items we watched today in class on CNN Student News.  Come up with some ideas as to how you could support your position on the topic.  Remember, whatever news item you choose, make sure that it has a "side" to take.  A news item on the 'biggest chocolate chip cookie' would be a tough one to take a side with.  This will be due upon your arrival to class Thursday.
